Small Credit Union Resources

You’re a smaller credit union that needs resources, ideas, and a network of peers who can help you grow and evolve your shop. We are a trade association that takes pride in our support of our smallest institutions. 

Welcome to your national network of small credit union leaders through the CUNA Small CU Community. You’re strongly encouraged to participate in the ongoing discussion about how to better yourselves and your shops.

We are thrilled to unveil a new resource for small credit unions, exclusive only to members of America’s Credit Unions.

You can now download “Blueprints for Small Credit Union Success,” a 170-page PDF containing successful business strategies sourced directly from small credit unions nationwide. Business areas range from lending to technology, operations to marketing, and we are confident that there is something in here for you, no matter where you need help within your organization.

A huge thank you to the Small Credit Union Committee for its leadership on this project. Not only did the group conceive of this resource and shape its direction, it also did an incredible amount of work encouraging credit unions to participate. 

Finally, thank you to the nearly 50 credit unions who participated in this project. Your commitment to collaboration and helping to support your peers across the country is greatly appreciated.

Affiliated credit unions under $50 million in assets receive both member and “small” credit union pricing on all CUNA training opportunities. 

All credit unions can apply for scholarships for any of our conferences or schools. 

  • CUNA Professional Development Online (CPD Online)—Affordable and foundational webinars that are remarkably suited for employee training at smaller shops. Need to cross-train staff? Conduct BSA training? CPD Online has you covered.
  • CUNA Training Bundle—Unlimited continuing education to invest in staff and position them for greater success as professionals. Packages include 250 webinars and 30 eSchools including the CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP).
