529 Plans And Dental Care On H&FF Radio
WASHINGTON (5/31/13)--Home & Family Finance Radio is writing you two prescriptions this week: Go to the dentist and save for college.

In this episode, which you can listen to on the Internet, host Paul Berry, Washington, D.C., journalist and broadcaster, discusses these topics with special guests:

  • "Saving Smart for College." John Kenny, managing director and head of investment firm Legg Mason Global Asset Allocation, New York, explains why using a tax-advantaged 529 Plan is one of the best ways to save for a child's college expenses.
  • "Everyone Needs a Dentist." Richard H. Van Gelder, community chairman of the Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy Dental Program and vice president of Hebron (Md.)  Savings Bank, discusses his organization's mission to provide free dental care to the uninsured.
  • "Don't Neglect Dental Health." Mary Reiter, a dental hygienist and volunteer for Maryland's Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy Dental Program, stresses the importance of routine dental care.
