Jody is an assistant vice president at Community Choice Credit Union in Farmington Hills, Michigan where she oversees ERM, compliance and internal audit. Prior to joining the $500 million credit union, she served as a compliance consultant with the Michigan Credit Union League. She began her career as a credit union examiner with the State of Michigan in the early 1990's, an era when there were still credit unions without the ABC's (Auditors, BSA Officers and Computers.)
David is an attorney, author, consultant and nationally recognized speaker. David is a partner in the law firm of Reed and Jolly, PLLC and founder of CU Doctor, a full service credit union consulting practice. Through Reed and Jolly, David provides guidance to credit unions concerning a variety of matters including the establishment and revision of credit union policies and procedures, organizational compliance, collections, security, contractual agreements, regulatory matters and corporate governance.
Bruce, a former CUNA Washington counsel, has been actively involved in legislative and regulatory changes affecting credit unions since the 1980s. He was actively involved in truth-in-lending reform, electronic fund transfer rule implementation and a host of other mission critical rules and regulations. He has been a fixture in compliance training for credit unions, written on compliance topics extensively and recently formed Reed & Jolly PLLC with David Reed to make their combined experience readily available across the United States. He serves as outside counsel to the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors and is admitted to the state bars of North Carolina, Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland.
Michael is the World Council of Credit Unions' (World Council's) chief counsel and vice president for Advocacy and Government Affairs. Michael's responsibilities include advocating on behalf of credit unions before international standards setting organizations such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the International Accounting Standards Board, the Financial Action Task Force and the G20, as well as before the European Commission, the European Parliament and other European Union entities. Prior to joining World Council, Michael worked for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in Washington, DC as its senior assistant general counsel.
Tracy is an instructional design manager at the Credit Union National Association. She is responsible for the design and production of compliance-related educational materials for credit unions and leagues. These responsibilities include developing, implementing and administering CU Advance RegTraC courses, CUNA Bank Secrecy Act Conference, compliance related audio conferences and webinars as well as all compliance related books and manuals.
Melisa is an instructional design manager at the Credit Union National Association. She is responsible for the design and production of compliance-related educational materials for credit unions and leagues. Prior to joining CUNA, Kallestad had a 20-year career with First American Credit Union of Beloit, Wisconsin. Her credit union career included holding the positions of Teller, Member Service Officer, Branch Manager and Retail Manager. Special areas of focus within the credit union included training, compliance, lending, member service and branch operations. In addition, Kallestad spent several years as a continuing financial education instructor for Rock Valley College.
