2008 Attorneys' Conference

This year’s conference will be held Monday, September 22 – Thursday, September 25th at Charleston Place, Charleston, South Carolina.

The following information will help plan your attendance at the conference.

Conference Agenda

This year’s conference sessions were chosen from the survey responses and current areas of interest to attendees. Here is an Agenda. A final Agenda will be available upon your arrival. Please refer to that document for the most current information. Thank you to those of you who agreed to act as presenters.

Conference Registration

Enclosed is a Conference Registration Form. You may also register on-line. We recommend you register by August 1st to take advantage of our early registration discount. Please return your conference registration form and payment directly to Credit Union National Association, Inc. either by mail, fax or on-line registration as directed on the form. You will receive confirmation of your registration and additional information including a personal code you will need to obtain the conference rate when making your hotel reservations. We will attempt to process confirmations within 3-5 business days after registration.

Travel Plans

We advise you make your travel arrangements well in advance to secure the most desirable flights. United Airlines is offering a discount on travel for our event. Please use code 553SF when making a reservation with United and book directly with the United MeetingsPlus Reservation Center at 1-800-521-4041. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the airport and very centrally located. You may not need a rental car unless your leisure plans involve leaving the Charleston area.

Hotel Reservations

Please refer to the hotel reservation letter for more detailed information. The cut-off date for hotel reservations is August 11, 2008.

Social Events

Social events for the conference include the Welcome Reception for attendees and registered guests held on Monday night at the hotel. The reception will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Palmetto Cafe. There will also be a Group Dinner on Tuesday evening for all attendees and registered guests held at the Riviera Theater on King Street, directly adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast for attendees and registered guests will be served Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning in the Charleston Grill. Additional spouse/guest activities and spa services can be arranged directly with the Concierge.

Special Events/Announcements

• Seibold Attorney of the Year Award. The Award will now be presented every other year, with the next award to be presented in 2009.
• First Time Attendees. This year we invite first-time attendees to register at a discounted rate and take advantage of a First Time Attendee only event on Tuesday. If you are a first time registrant, you will receive more information when you register.

Continuing Legal Education Credit

Again this year we will provide a generic application form for each of you to apply for continuing legal education credit. Each attendee is responsible for submitting the accreditation form (and necessary materials) to their state bar associations. We will be happy to cooperate with you in meeting the particular requirements for your state. If your state requires advance approval, please let us know as soon as possible so that information can be sent accordingly.
