The Credit Union HLPR Mortgage

Home Loan Payment Relief - How to get started

Thank you for your interest in the Home Loan Payment Relief (HLPR) program. The program features below-market ARMs and FRMs that credit unions offer to their members of modest means to benefit these members and further demonstrate credit unions’ achievement of their mission.

To get started, we suggest you follow the following links:

Check out the HLPR Mortgage Outline which summarizes the basics of the program. More introductory information is then available in the HLPR PowerPoint.

As credit unions have learned more about the program, they have had a number of questions. These questions, along with the answers, are all listed in the Frequently Asked Questions. The FAQs are listed by topic. If after reviewing the material, you have a question that has not been answered, email it to hlpr@cuna.coop and we’ll add it.

There are also links to information on borrower income limits and cumulative reported HLPR activity.

After reviewing all the information, we hope your credit union will want to participate. Participation simply involves your making available to your modest means members up to 0.5% or 0.75% of your credit union’s assets in loans that meet the basic conditions of the HLPR program. Once you decide to participate, please sign up here.
