Instructors
Kevin Finnerty
Kevin is the Director of Policy for the State Regulatory Registry LLC (SRR), a subsidiary of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS). SRR operates the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) on behalf of state mortgage regulatory agencies. NMLS launched in January 2008.
At CSBS, Kevin is responsible for developing and coordinating policy regarding the NMLS Federal Registry for mortgage loan originators employed federally-chartered or federally-insured depository institutions.
Previous to joining CSBS, Kevin worked for the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where he analyzed the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s impact on state and local governments, and the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he managed the Secretary’s interactions with state and local governments. Kevin has also worked at the Mortgage Bankers Association, during which time he developed industry policy for loan production, quality assurance and mortgage fraud issues. He began his career working in New York Governor George E. Pataki’s Office of Federal Affairs, serving as a liaison between New York State and the federal government on issues including financial services, transportation and the redevelopment of Lower Manhattan. Kevin graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in government and economics.
