Gordon L. Gerson
Gordon L. Gerson is managing principal of GERSONLAW, concentrating nationwide in all aspects of commercial real estate finance.
GERSONLAW has an active institutional and mortgage banking practice. He has substantial experience in commercial real estate finance with a particular emphasis on the origination, workout and enforcement of commercial loans with a particular emphasis on real estate finance for the capital markets and all areas of GSE lending. His past and current engagements include some of the nation's largest financial institutions, publicly traded and privately held mortgage banking funds, life insurance companies, credit unions and special servicers.
Gerson has been engaged in credit union commercial real estate finance for more than 20 years with a focus on building credit union real estate lending platforms. His broad base of experience includes credit union loan origination, servicing and loan portfolio sale transactions (MLPAs).
Gerson’s firm closes several hundred loans each year for all character of commercial real estate – which includes an emphasis on multifamily originations for which he brings unmatched expertise to the credit union industry.
Mr. Gerson has been recognized as a leading real estate finance lawyer for more than 10 years in editions of The Best Lawyers in America and Southern California Super Lawyers. Mr. Gerson is a fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
Among his professional memberships are the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and the California Mortgage Bankers Association. He is admitted to practice in the state of California.
